I recently started prayer-by-writing, addressing my prayers to my guardian angel/spirit.

Wonderful! I commonly pray to my guardian angel/spirit/whatever* and find the practice very helpful—I'm glad yours has enlisted my aid, such as it is!

(*I call mine an "angel", but I guess that's commonly regarded as a Christian term? Anyway, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet", so I don't tend to worry about nomenclature too much.)
